Blue Jade

First ever fashion shoot, and I'm lovin it! It's invigorating to jump out of your comfort zone and try something new! You never know what excitement and joy lies ahead. This image was lit with a einstein 640 through a gridded beauty dish boomed overhead. Fill light was provided by an EXD400 light through a large softbox just behind me. Two striplights are placed on either side of Jade to add a bit of rim light. In post blue light was added entering from the top of the frame to tie in the hat and chair which adds a tranquil, calming feeling to the image. Jade-1234-Edit

Here's a composite image of Jade standing with such poise and confidence! This was lit with a beauty dish boomed overhead with an Einstein 640. Strip lights on either side grids. The strip light camera left was turned up much brighter but was further away and as such was harder light than the other on the right. both b800's I had an interfit exd400 behind me to add much needed fill light. I love have the mixture of hard light above with the beauty dish to carve out features and the large fill light behind to fill in the shadows (Something I always find myself doing in post but looks better if you can achieve this in camera! www.nakean.com http://flic.kr/p/kgKnz8

In Jade's Hands

The first of many beautiful images created with Margo Jones and Jade Solomon Curtis. Lit with a gridded beauty dish boomed above and large octa directly behind the camera for fill. — with Jade Solomon Curtis http://flic.kr/p/kfZqFC

The Push Up

Believe it or not, this jumper is about to whip that rope under her feet and then catch herself in the plank position. This is an example of what you can do with a strobe that has a very long flash duration. It means that, unlike my Einstein 640, it can't freeze motion with strobe(which wouldn't happen anyway with this much ambient). What it does mean is that with some careful Macgyver skills I can steal just a portion of the light from a very long duration with an extremely flash shutter speed. This was captured at 1/1250 outdoors shot at f2.8! I used a single Interfit EXD400 light through a large PLM boomed above. I can't wait for it to be warm again! http://flic.kr/p/k3M2m7

Bright smile

Lit with Einstein 640 with a blue gel through an umbrella camera right. The blue gel was used to warm up the cloudy and blue temperature outdoors behind the subject. Reflect low and camera left to fill in the shadows. http://flic.kr/p/k2nCxU

Take Flight

A little gem from our shoot a while back! Love this girl and her spunky attitude! Thanks, Erin, for being you! Lit with beauty dish boomed above. Stripboxes on either side with ab800's and ab800 behind for background light. www.nakean.com http://flic.kr/p/jXju1c
