Bright smile

Green Giggles

Having some fun with some editing techniques for that cartoon like affect. I started with Joel Grimes and his blur effect but never could quite get the look I wanted. I think it helps that most of his images are quite a bit darker. This technique of noise reduction and high pass filter to bring back a little detail is exactly what I'm looking for. I love trying on others Photoshop techniques to see if they fit my workflow. I like some bits and pieces and make them my own for my unique look in images. It's always evolving and changing. Adding a bit of salt here and bit of pepper there. This shot is all natural light. http://flic.kr/p/iRp8wR

Little Clark Kent

-My Little Clark Kent who just forgot to take of his cape! Had so much fun running around with Grandpa listening to the theme song of Superman blaring through the living room speakers! Man this kid can lift your spirits! I couldn't help but sprint to the garage studio for my stripbox and Einstein light! One of many great captures with Grampa in the kitchen! Happy Holidays to all! lit with a single Einstein through gridded stribox camera right. http://flic.kr/p/iyqDv8

Shing blues

Here's a photo of my best friend I've known since we were 6 and 7 years old! One might think I've taken a ton of photos of him but they would be completely wrong. Ultimately, taking photos of him when he wasn't cleaned up and ready to be photographed primed him to come back and show his more put together persona. There were a ton of images we both liked from this shoot. One of the images I posted recently was without the jacket and lit from the front by only two lights. In this image, however, There are 4 lights illuminating Corey from both sides, top, and bottom. All lights were gridded except for the bottom fill light allowing me to add color to the black paper in the background. http://flic.kr/p/hzo2GT

To Cool for Fall

I love the term, available light, whether it be sun, lamp, strobe, or otherwise. This one happens to be the sun bouncing off a rather large white building. The light is much more direct than cloudy natural light but softer than strobe. Once you become a photographer you spend all day "looking for light" whether you mean to or not! http://flic.kr/p/hnVnSv

Jenna Hayes

Possibly my favorite photo of @Jenna Hayes at Bothel Landing Park. Photographed with large softbox camera left feathered far in front of Jenna. Hair light behind subject and camera right as well. Reflector just below and camera right. Hopefully I'll have a chance to photograph this Gymnast in action! http://flic.kr/p/fMWF2M
