Backyard Fun

So much fun yesterday playing outside in the heat with our DIY slip and slide! Lit with a boomed Einstein in xsmall mini octa. http://flic.kr/p/obffYp

Confidence

A great closeup of Jaybrie Brown from our shoot some time ago. Adhering to the same theme of simplicity here. I love the contrast of his shirt with his skin. I'm also diggin the shallow depth of field that draws your into his eyes. This was lit with a large octa boomed overhead and a 64" PLM directly behind myself and and the camera. If you look in the eyes you can see the catch lights from both modifiers. http://flic.kr/p/nPVq81

Larger than life

This is the one from the series that I edited. This kid's got it all! Just too much to photograph! And he actually likes it! This particular image was lit by a large octa camera right and two strip lights to light the background. Doing double duty with fill and the floor is a large plm behind me. http://flic.kr/p/mKTBcM

Smiling and Swinging

Love this kid! Brings a smile to my face every day! This is a special smile (When mom surprised us at Lincoln Park. All natural light. http://flic.kr/p/m2YruK

Little Clark Kent

-My Little Clark Kent who just forgot to take of his cape! Had so much fun running around with Grandpa listening to the theme song of Superman blaring through the living room speakers! Man this kid can lift your spirits! I couldn't help but sprint to the garage studio for my stripbox and Einstein light! One of many great captures with Grampa in the kitchen! Happy Holidays to all! lit with a single Einstein through gridded stribox camera right. http://flic.kr/p/iyqDv8

Don't be a sucker

Just got home from dinner and felt the need to photograph my little man with his lollie pop! He wouldn't let me call it a sucker! This was so much more! In his defense it was far too large to suck on. I must say I like having the background light suspended from the rafters rather than to the side as it helps keep the fall off much smoother and linear to the edges. I love the look of the wood floor but struggle with the paper background roll exposed. Does it take away for you at all( I see it all the time in images)? Lit with a large Octa camera right and reflector camera left. Gridded strip boxes either side and the background light superclamped above on a rafter and pointed behind him. http://flic.kr/p/hwEQ7J

Confidence

Christoph Mayr posted up on the bridge at Bothel Landing. One of the 4 seniors I photographed that day. Thanks for all your help carying gear and posing for photos! This was definately one of my favorites from the shoot. Lit with Large Octa Camera left. I thought I was done taking this giant outdoors, but the light is just too gorgeous not to use it. I don't believe in compromise when it comes to great portraits! I'll let someone else do that. http://flic.kr/p/fCSr8b
